With the recent release of Man v Music volume II in physical format over the past week, it has cast my mind to the original concept of what this blog was all about. Despite our favourable reviews and thought-provoking conversations here, Man v Music‘s original concept was never to be as forgiving as it is now. As the name suggests, it was originally meant to be an undergraduate student moaning and guffawing at how difficult the music industry was – and still is – but over time, I’ve come to realise that my argumentative approach really didn’t do anyone good – for myself or for the readers.
And so, with maturity and time, has come an alteration with Man v Music and we do things. My theme has perhaps stayed its course more with the collections of Let’s Talk. A conversation-piece into how the music industry impacts our everyday lives with technology changes, music trends and artistic directions with some rather … controversial individuals in the limelight.
But with everything, I’ve become more aware and accustomed to what this site is all about. One man sharing his love – and uneasiness – about the music industry and what it brings to us as avid listeners, fanatics and general consumers. From the reviews to the talks, I think that this is in a real good place with a good community at the helm – and that thanks goes to all you lot. A real back-and-forth between one another with our own posts and conversations, it is a truly welcoming site to be a part of, so I thank each and every one of you!
God bless and have a good weekend. I’ll see you on the next one.
