I’ve heard a mix bag from this dazzling actress-turned musician that is taking the charts by storm with her debut album, SOUR. With these soon-to-be global superstars rising with ferocity, what do you think to Rodrigo’s music? Taste of something different that we like – or heartbreak drivel we’ve heard before?

Either way, let me know your thoughts. If it’s positive enough, I may very well do an album review on SOUR itself.

Coming from the perspective of an old codger who’s practically heard it all, I have to say that I like her. She’s got above-average talent compared to many of her contemporaries, with a strong singing voice. I’ve listened to several of her songs, and my favorite is “Drivers License”, but I also like “Brutal” a lot.

Yeah, I have to say, I’m a fan of her work and her debut that was released a couple weeks back. My favourite is “Deja Vu” at the moment!

I really only know ‘Driver’s Licence’ at this point, and while it obviously hasn’t been enough to make me seek out more, it is an above average pop song. A surprisingly powerful lyric (the love lives of teenagers don’t usually do it for me) over a beautifully simple melody, and that lovely bridge. Even with how overplayed it’s been, I still like it, so that’s a good song.

I’d love for you to do an album review to prompt me to listen to more.

Yeah, no I was thinking about doing an album review for Rodrigo’s SOUR. Despite the banal story of teenage romance that’s been overdone ten times over in music, her writing is fairly catchy and enjoyable to listen too. I may very well bag a review on somewhere along this week, watch this space!
