Let’s Talk: What are your top vinyl picks?

Written by:

After HMV reveals their first drop of vinyl exclusives for their 100th anniversary, it just goes to show how popular and powerful this vinyl resurgence has become in today’s music industry.

So, as a topical question for a Thursday, what are your top picks in the vinyl world?

Is it the assorted colour selection you like – or the limited edition that takes your fancy?

Or is it simply the classic music works on the classic black vinyl?

Do let me know your favourites!

I’m very intrigued!

I have not played a vinyl record in decades but one of my favorites back in the day was a 45 of BTO, I think Magic Carpet Ride was on the B side (That was a favorite song back then.) The 45 was my oldest sisters and I used to steal it and play it on a Holly Hobby record player. This was back in the 70s…Sorry, for the long story…

Oh wow hahah! No no I love the stories of music nostalgia, it only reminds us what we had and solidifies our place in the timescale of music consumption! It’s fantastic to hear this. I was not fortunate to grow up in such an established era, when I was old enough to get music devices, Bluetooth and CDs already! Now, it’s come full circle and I can purchase vinyls again. Funny old world, eh? Thanks for stopping by, my friend.

What a great question! So much thought goes into picking vinyl. Lately my acquisitions have been pretty eclectic. My last few have been Like Clockwork by QOTSA, A Flower is a Lovesome thing by Vince Guaraldi, and From the Cradle by Eric Clapton. A little bit all over the place but I’d like to think it makes for a well rounded record collection.

I love your style of choices here – what a nice range. Love love QOTSA to Clapton, from the classics to the influenced. I like it!
