Hey folks, hope your week is going well so far. As a little dive away from your usual music picks, I thought it be best to pick out a favourite podcast of mine that I dabble in quite frequently on my communal trips to and from work.
Broken Record … with Rick Rubin, Malcolm Gladwell, Bruce Headlam and Justin Richmond
A prolific in-depth dive down into the world of music, multi-award winning record producer Rick Rubin co-stars a fantastic podcast as musicians you love talk about their life, inspiration and craft. Icons-abound, it is a very insightful tale on all-things music and how the best have created the best.
My recent favourite was Robert Plant as he sat down with Rick back in February. Arguably the most iconic rock vocalist of all time, his dynamic, soaring vocal style was the perfect accompaniment for high-profile rock stint Led Zeppelin. Join both on a tantalising tale of meeting Bonham describing himself as the “best drummer in the world” and the bands audacious trip to the Sahara in the early ’70s that eventually inspired those iconic riffs in “Kashmir.”
Worth the listen for every minute. I recommend sticking it on as I did during my commute – and watch the time sail by:
