Teen Suicide
A band with many faces, Teen Suicide wade in from the lo-fi rain and bring together a record that’s every bit intimate as it is fun. Now firmly landing in the bombastic stage of sludge metal and edged indie-pop, husband and wife Sam and Kitty Ray are ready to leap with two feet into an alt-rock landscape of new.
The duo work under Teen Suicide is not a new happening. Anchored by the lofi-charm of 2015’s i will be my own hell because there is a devil inside my body, the underground has many a-band inspired due to their edged music.
Despite the commercial plinths that are stockpiled from their previous works, Teen Suicide swam up-current, resisted comfort and surged to a new sound. Herein, lies ‘Nude descending staircase headless’. As a middle finger to the world leaning towards the path of least resistance for ease at every turn, the record is a sweeping rock album at its core.

Enter Shikari
For their eighth, it became apparent that the band wanted to do something a bit different. With the band already reaching the heights of a chart topper with their previous, A Kiss for the Whole World in 2023, one question was asked, “what’s best for the art?” Rou and co came up with a very simple solution – release the album in full. No pre-single, no project build-up, just a bolt out of the blue.
So for Lose Your Self, Enter Shikari release a record as the way as intended: as a cohesive whole.

Fast Money Music
It can be said that good things don’t come to those who wait. It seems for the case of Nick Hinman, it’s the exact opposite. You see, Hinman has been biding his time perfecting one minute detail at a time. In between building a loyal fanbase from his two larger-than-life mixtapes in 2022 aswell as performing at sold-out headliners around East London, he has spent time in the studio writing his debut record and putting down some of his best ideas to the mixing console.
Now, it arrives, on the shores of a Summer which will no doubt set to be his biggest yet. Cobbling every episodic narrative in his life, Hinman – under the pseudonym of FAST MONEY MUSIC – finally delivers a completed album that has been patiently waiting in the shadows for the better part of a decade.

My New Band Believe
Former Black Midi bassist Cameron Picton’s solo debut under the banner, My New Band Believe, is a dazzling marker from an artist who has already earned his flowers. This is a record of contemplative study and beauty – it’s a record made up of components that make you listen time and time again and each time, it takes you somewhere else. A collective portrait of different emotions, baroque melodies and chamber-punk arrangements make up most of it. It’s inspirations are ten-fold at least, but the likes of The Beatles’ story-making come to mind instantly.

Jesus Christ Taxi Driver
Jesus Christ Taxi Driver reanimate the scene for good with their return – Taxi the Rich. A crux of couwboy rock, funky off-colouring and alternative crispiness to make the 6Music dads turn heads, the Colorado four-piece distill The Cramps in style. 2023 was the year of the debut where things really lifted off. Last year, they were included in quite a lucrative list for the “best independent live bands to keep and eye on.” Luckily, they have every intention this year to remain on the road and showcase their unrestrained show to North America and beyond. Now, this year, they release their follow-up. Fun guitar blends, sardonic lyricism, doozy instrumentals. Taxi the Rich honestly sounds like a different band on its 11 tracks offered here. A genuine treat of a discovery.

Jordan Rakei
A mightily impressive support casting, the renowned Ivor Novello-nominated maestro picks up where The Loop left off with a resonant EP – as he begins to explore his inner psyche once more. Short in stature but huge in sound, Between Us EP marks a suave exploration of soul, funk and jazz. Built from one-day spontaneity sessions at Abbey Road, it possess both soulful charm and collaborative spirit as Rakei attempts to draw distinct voices into one hive mind of sound. Featuring Jalen Ngonda, Ezra Collective’s Femi Koleoso and Jungle’s Tom McFarland to name a few, Between Us hallmarks Rakei’s already purposeful career to another level – wading in one unforgetful Summer, all before the World Cup. Pick up your very own jersey before it all kicks off.
