Evening guys, how’s it going? So here it is. The seventh instalment of Uniquely Yours. This week, the playlist has been compiled on the worthy songs on heavy rotation for us at the moment. We have some new alternative favourites with Bleachers’ Modern Girl making its fine introduction (coming in as our SINGLE OF THE WEEK) while new The Last Dinner Party saunters in as another stellar single – the band three for three right now. We also have songs that have well established themselves this month from album reviews or recent releases. We have Beartooth’s Sunshine! taking its spot from their euphoric The Surface. We also have emo-shoegaze gunners entering the conversation with new Fiddlehead, new Slow Joy and classic Deftones and Loathe teaching the kids how it’s done. We also have some new indie works in the playlist too, with Bombay Bicycle Club joining forces with Chaka Khan (come again?) on Tekken 2 for a surprisingly glorious stand-out and a tempting visit to the album in full when it drops later this year. Following the legal fallout with Easy Life, we also have to share some love to the local Leicester boys throwing in their new – and potentially last – single trust exercises under their name. My two favourite bands right now have to be Militarie Gun and Geese so it’s no wonder that they’ve squirreled themselves in here too, cheeky minks. We also have some alternative rock hidden gems of Koyo, Jaws the Shark (new EP wut) and cursetheknife who are slowly but surely tearing up their scenes right now.
