A real meet-up between rock and its roll, progressive three-piece Exploring Birdsong release their debut this month – and it’s a real doozy.
An inward-facing conviction of life’s complexities, the progressive rock drive of newcomers Exploring Birdsong is both exciting and refreshing. Due on 26th of June, the trio’s Every House We Built, sees them on a full project outing for the first time, ever eager to take flight and spread their wings.
The new era is sparked with Romanticise, a synth-ladled, vocal-strong alt-pop discourse met with an scintillating breakdown of scuffed riffs and clean breakaways. We’re met with the last of the pre-singles before release with Spy in the House of Love ; a floating feel-good bop that feels like it’s been mustered up by a different band entirely. Then we’ve got You Like It Best When It Hurts – the bands’ heaviest track to date which firmly places the band in prog report.
Certainly, a promising future for leading women in progressive rock. Their highly anticipated debut album, Every House We Built is out 26th of June via Long Branch Records.
