Getdown Services: talk of the town for alternative noise

It’s set to be a year to remember from the Bristolian boys. A power dance romping of a silly Britain, Getdown Services are fast proving that they’re the hottest duo in a musical manifest of alternative glory-holes. To pair Josh Law and Ben Sadler, letting loose is all part of the game. A British ham sarnie of funky Yard Act disco-rock-esque, Streets spoken-word colloquiums awash with T-Rex ’70s rock inflections, debut 2023 of Crisps was a trifle of delight.

2024 saw the two release their EP of two with Your Medal’s in the Post gleaming quality was Dog Dribble – a post-genre might on modern life gourmandising.

Obtuse one liners imminent, barmy duo complete the set with another EP release today. Filled to the brim of their trademark genre-bending, cushioned elevator disco bops, Primordial Slot Machine strives to dazzle and maim an alternative scene with its plentiful colour and crazy. Featuring doozy ear-worm of “we’re-just-fine-how-we-are” Eat Quiche, Sleep Repeat and funky lounge relaxant Chrysalis in a gravitas wormhole of seeking out stress without even realising it.

Channelling the wonderful world of weird, Josh Law and Ben Sadler will not be afraid to say that they’re a few sandwiches short of a picnic. But that’s not to say that they’re not dead set on music success. Ain’t no stopping us now: an ever-expansive catalogue of charming stupidity, Getdown Services are on a roll.
