Dura mater>>

A frenetic eight-piece brash horn-fuelled post-punk of considerable counter force, Dura Mater are incomparable to many others. Throwing everything at it, including the kitchen-sink, it’s a bold and bright collective who certainly don’t do things by halves. With any luck, these lot will be your next urinal conversation. You can catch them supporting Wings of Desire at Rough Trade Nottingham on the 26th February.

Bored Marsh>>

A immersive, alternative quartet dowsed in reverb and guitar janks with attitude, Bored Marsh are a dark-wave moody night drive soundscape of quality and experience. Backed by their 6-minute knockout The Grind laced with Ian Curtis-esque swoon, are set to have a blinding year.

Airport Dad>>

Stalwart alt-indie collective Airport Dad are strong evidence that the 0115 scene is one of power and decadence. Led by Brighter Days – a crunchy guitar-driven charmer – it sets up the four-piece for a fantastic year ahead. You can catch them supporting SET THE FIRE at The Angel on the 24th February.

Skitz Wizards>>

Fuelled by political and social unrest, Skitz Wizards are an enigmatic heavy rock hardcore four-piece who use an unconventional set-up of two bass and no guitar to make their firm-footed mark. An undulating sound to quiver the most ripe-and-ready to dive into the pits, the likes of Cost and Wage Slave give you all the reasons to simply let loose. You can see them for yourself at JT Soar nearing the end of the month.

Catmilk>>

Catmilk has quickly earned herself as a household name within the shire of Nottingham. Whether it’s cozying up on the sofa with a steaming mug of tea or gazing longingly out of the window as the leaves fall, her oozy doses of fever dream indie-folk make perfect dabbling appetites to losing yourself in the music.
