Top 5 Reasons why you Should Listen to Music EVERY DAY

I thought I would tone it down for today, and hone in on the beauties of music instead of slating it every waking hour – which I normally do on here. So here I am on my work break, giving you more reasons to listen to music. As if you need more reasons to listen to music.

1. Music helps you CONCENTRATE more

That’s right! It’s led to believe that the continuous sultry tones of Tom Jones or the sultry touch of Michael Jackson helps you concentrate and zone in on what you want to achieve. Whether its exercise or work itself, I tend to get lost in the music and just sing along. Which, now you mention it, does the opposite of what it’s supposed to do if we’re going by this.

2. Music relieves stressssss

This one pretty much ties in with the first one to be honest. Can’t sleep? Struggling to sift through paperwork? Music is the ultimate stress-buster with that good old “feel-good” release of dopamine and is the perfect way to kick back and let your favourite tunes drift you away from the hideous reality of your life.

3. Music BOOSTS your creativity

Yeah, this is true, too! I’m not just talking about the ethos of classical with Beethoven either. Metal, jazz – all genres. It releases chemical reactions in the brain which your creative side loves and absorbs. So pick up that paintbrush next time you are listening to Black Sabbath, debunk the Paranoid and get crafting.

4. Social skills improve – important in isolation, eh?

Listening to favourite classics in music and sharing new music with other like-minded people who share the same love for the genres you do, improves your social bubble all-round. It not only enhances your social capability of maintaining conversation – but also reduces the chances of you hiding in the corner and shying away from prying eyes eager for your opinion on that latest album or single. Music has been the gratifying resolution to combat isolation during this time. It has not only saved conversations, kept conversation flowing but has embraced loving memories of past gigs, and musical talents that we have forgotten over time.

5. Where Words Fail, Music Speaks

Above all else, music speaks to us no amount of words can. With many us finding it difficult to open up about ourselves and how we are feeling especially during this lockdown period, the connectivity we have to music and our favourite artists is insurmountable and cannot be topped by anything else. Apart from eating. Oh, and maybe your mum. Talk to your mum, will you?

See you tomorrow, folks.
